Weekend Round Up – 19th/20th March

March 19th /20th:

U-17Div 3 – Clashmore Ramblers 2 Corkbeg 1

Corkbeg U-17s slim title hopes faded in West Waterford on Saturday afternoon, when they were beaten 2-1 by Clashmore Ramblers. Aaron Walsh was the Corkbeg goalscorer.

U-14Div1 – Corkbeg 1 Bandon 0

Corkbeg continued their good form with a 1-0 win against Bandon in Whitegate on Sunday.
The home side were much the better team and played some really good football, with Cillian Scanlon and Jack Mulcahy dictating the play and tempo all through.

The back four of Jackson Kearns, Ewan Forbes, Max Daly and Jamie Walsh were very comfortable and dominant. Sam McAllister had only one save to make at the start of the second half. Tom Walsh and Cormac Crowley slotted seamlessly into the back four in the second half to continue the dominance.

Jack Dorney added creativity to the forward division to continue Corkbeg creating chances. Josh McCarthy slotted a through ball to Tristin Ward who made no mistake to put the hosts 1-0 up.

Corkbeg  created chances for Cian Moore, Adam Lewis and Jack Mulcahy, only for the impressive Bandon keeper to keep them out.
A well deserved result for the home side .

U13 Div3 –  Corkbeg 1 Riverstown A 1

A depleted Corkbeg played host to Riverstown on Sunday morning. The home team started the better and after a few chances were awarded a penalty for a handball which Jack Cahill slotted home to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

The visitors were back on level terms early in the 2nd half, but the Beg dominated the majority of the half. But our Achilles Heel this season is not converting all of the chances we create.

Chances came for Conan, Shay, Conor and Liam, but shots off target as well as some saves and a goal line clearance saw the game finish level.

Feels more like 2 pts dropped and with a bit more composure in front of goal we could have won it, but we take the point and move on.
