Corkbegs U-13s second game this week, after Tuesday nights cup defeat to Blarney, where Josh McCarthy was on the scoresheet. 
 
 
Carrigtwohill were the visitor’s to Whitegate to take on Corkbeg in the first league fixture after lockdown.
 
The Division 1 U-13 encounter was tight all the way through the first half with Josh McCarthy and Adam Lewis prominent in attack. A few half chances passed the homeside by. The defence marshalled by Cillian Scanlon and Cian Moore held strong with the half time score 0-0.
 
 
After taking on refreshments the sides returned to the pitch in the intense heat. Carrigtwohill were quickly to the fore taking the lead just 2 minutes into the second period.
 
A second goal quickly followed for the visitor’s.
Corkbeg dug into their reserves with Jack Mulcahy and Aesa Murphy putting in big performances for the Beg. With 10 minutes to go, a through-ball found Tristan Ward, who buried it into the back of the net. Corkbeg were back in it and continued to fight through the remainder of the match.
 
Time ran out and Carrigtwohill went home with a 2-1 win and the 3 points on offer.
