Corkbeg U12’B’ had a great 3-1 win at home to Midleton ‘C’ on Sunday afternoon. The first half was a tense affair but both teams kept going for it. A couple of good saves from goalkeeper Eoghan O’Shea made sure we were at 0-0 at half time.

The second half saw Corkbeg press forward as a team. And the pressure eventually told. A goal mouth scramble saw the ball drop to Jack Cahill and he buried the ball into the Midleton net. A 2nd goal arrived soon afterwards via penalty, a great break away move saw Conor Padden, Tim ODriscoll and Jack Cahill move the ball left and right, to allow Conor through on goal only to be fouled in the penalty area. Jack C stepped to put the ball in the net. 2-0. Midleton fought back and reduced the score to 2-1 soon after.

In the final minute, Hugh raced through on goal following a great pass; one on one with the keeper, he made no mistake the score ended 3-1. A great first game with some tired players at the end. Great credit to the players who played their heart out.
Finally, credit to Terry, the pitch was top class considering we were the 3rd match on the pitch yesterday.
