Thank you to everybody who attended our annual Soccerthon on Sunday afternoon. We were blessed with wonderful weather for 99% of the afternoon and it looked like everybody had a great day.
Our annual ‘’Soccerthon’’ marks the end of the schoolboys and our Underage Academy season. This year we broke with tradition and held the Soccerthon for exclusively our Academy members, while the competitive teams from U-12 to U-17, held their awards night in Trabolgan on Thursday night. Participation medals were given out on Sunday afternoon to all our Academy teams from U-6 to U-11 levels.
Thanks to everybody who helped out today. Thanks, as usual, to Nicola for the face-painting, Jamie for the ice-cream van and Anthony for the loan of the PA System. Thanks to our Academy partners Trabolgan Holiday Village for sending down Florrie The Fox and Bonnie The Bunny this afternoon and thanks to Cork City FC for sending down Corky The Cheetah. And thanks to Helen, Ciara, Niamh and anybody else who helped out in our busy club shop today.
Most of all, thank you to the Academy coaches, volunteers and parents who do such a wonderful job of giving our Academy members a fun introduction to soccer and develop them every weekend on their own leisure time. Without them, we’d be lost, so well done folks and enjoy your well earned summer break.
Winners of the competitions on the afternoon were:
Crossbar Challenge: Cian Moore
Tyre Challenge: Adam Lewis & Eoin Kirrane
Keepy-Uppy Challenge: Nathan Tynan
There will be a full report on Thursday nights awards night in Trabolgan, with photos, over the next few nights.
