The club committee met last week via Zoom to review ongoing club activities in light of the government announcement that Ireland is moving to Level 5 Covid restrictions.
Based on Level 5 protocols issued by the Government & FAI, all organised football matches (except for those at senior elite level) are to cease for a period of 6 weeks.
Therefore all adult training and playing is suspended in Corkbeg until further notice.
As a club, We are trying to maintain the balance of providing the benefits of sports and training for young club members vs the absolute requirement for safety during a pandemic.
Based on government level 5 protocols training is allowed for Corkbeg schoolboy club members as follows .
Children up U16
Training in pods of up to 15 as per FAI guidance. We will be reinforcing the absolute need for our coaches and players to strictly follow FAI and Club guidelines and use common sense on all occasions.
Corkbeg Academy will continue on Sunday mornings.
Sanitisation – Safe physical distancing and coughing/sneezing eitiqutte must be adhered at all times for football activities to continue and to help reduce the risk of contracting or spreading the virus.
As previously outlined, The committee is strongly supportive and understanding of any coaches, volunteers, parents or players who wish to cease activities due to safety concerns and we would advise anyone who feels uneasy or anxious to withdraw from club activities until they are personally assured that it safe for them to return.
We would like to take the opportunity to wish all those in our community and beyond who have contracted the virus a full and speedy recovery.
We can and will get through this very difficult time so let’s all work together to keep ourselves and community safe.
