Corkbeg U-12’A’ had a great start to the season with an injury time winner against Glounthaune United away from home at Glenmore Park this evening. The sides went in level at 1-1 at half time thanks to a magnificent solo goal from Aidan O Brien.
In the second half Corkbeg were the much the stronger side and but for some magnificent saves from the home goalkeeper the game would have been well and truly finished. But the lads kept digging away and Tristan Ward forced the ball over the line with only seconds remaining to complete a great 2-1 win. Fantastic spirit from the lads. Plenty to work on at training over the weeks ahead but a great start to the season.
