Corkbeg U-12’A’ End Season In Style

U12 Div6 – Corkbeg ‘A’ 7 Ballinhassig 0.
Final game of the delayed 2020-2021 season
A great finish to the U12 Div6 campaign by all the lads on a sunny Sunday morning in Whitegate. The opening 15 minutes were evenly balanced, with both teams having chances but good defending and goalkeeping at both ends we got to the first water break goalless.
In the second quarter, the Beg grew into the game and started to dominate. A few chances were created and we finally managed to break the deadlock just prior to half time
The start of the second half was all Corkbeg and the goals started to fly in. However impressive Corkbeg were going forward, they were equally as impressive at the back, which was rock solid.
The goals were bagged by David Murphy (3), Peter Mulcahy (2) and Braden Dunlea (2). This was the lads last game at U12 level and the improvement throughout the season is clear to see. Roll on U13 Div6!!!!!!!
No player can be singled out today, because everybody was excellent; it was great to have superkeeper Evan Courteney back from injury and he kept a clean sheet. In defence, Matthew Condon, Donnacha Walsh and Conor Fleming were rock solid all game. Braden Dunlea David Murphy and Liam Barry covered every blade of grass on the field for the entire 60mins and Peter Mulcahy Matthew Hyde Sullivan and James O Neil ran themselves into the ground up front.
David Murphy grabbed a hat-trick

Fantastic display all. Well done to Evan and all his crew for a team that has made massive improvements throughout the season and finally got the good luck that deserted them for most of the early season games. No doubt that the lads will look forward with optimism to the U-13 league, which begins in a few weeks time.
