Corkbeg AFC Schoolgirls and Ladies Soccer.
Calling all Schoolgirls and / or ladies who are interested in playing soccer in the Saleen/ Aghada/ Whitegate / Greater East Cork area!!!
Irish Female sports stars are powering ahead from Katie Taylor, Rachel Blackmore, Leona Maguire and Sanita Puspure to name a few on the global stage to local role models like Emma Farmer, Hannah Looney, Sorcha Phelan in the national GAA scene. Or one of our own Academy graduates, Shauna Cashman (pictured), currently playing with Cork City FC.
In response to an overwhelming demand, Corkbeg AFC are looking at the feasibility of introducing a structured set up for a schoolgirl’s academy and potentially teams for the forthcoming 2021/2022 season.
With that in mind, we are holding an open training session & information day at our club grounds in Whitegate, on Sunday 13th of June at 2pm to gauge the level of interest in the formation of one or maybe two Ladies teams, playing at underage level in the Cork Women’s and Schoolgirls Soccer League (CWSSL). And ultimately, the setting up of an Underage Girls Academy (U-6 to U-11).
We obviously will be hoping for many players, from age 6 upwards to show up and register their interest on the day, and also for coaches & volunteers to register their interest in helping us out, both male & female, to get our schoolgirls academy and teams up and running.
Obviously, the need for female volunteers is very high with schoolgirls soccer, so PLEASE ladies, we need your help and input to make this happen. No experience is required to help out and it would be great to have you involved.
This is a huge undertaking, and we would appreciate any help from any volunteers that can make this a reality. Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday, June 13th.
