Corkbeg Girls Academy
Okay, folks! The news is good. Very good.
Corkbeg will launch an underage Academy in September, specifically catering for underage girls. At present, we have an underage academy that caters for both boys and girls at U7, U8, U9 & U10 levels. But with a continuing growing interest in the womens game and with the encouragement we garnered from the enthusiasm & goodwill shown by everybody at our open training day earlier this month, from September onwards, we will have two academies running side by side – one catering for boys and one catering for girls.
It is our current plan to start training for the following age groups for girls: U-8, U-10, U-12 and U-14. More details will follow in the coming weeks and months. But, before that, to keep things ticking over, we will hold another open training session on Sunday 11th July at 10.30am.
Like before, we’d love for all the girls (and parents) who attended our previous open session to come back again and show us your skills. The last day was a lot of fun and we’re keen to get everybody back down and to hopefully, bring some friends with them.
But, we do have one very important request. In order for a Girls Academy and Girls teams to successfully launch and to successfully progress, we need a lot of volunteers to throw their name into the ring; specifically female volunteers, as female volunteers would be a very basic and necessary requirement for all girls/ladies team squads. Without female input and female support, it will be difficult to keep the show on the road. Don’t worry, you don’t need any experience, training & advice will be always provided and honestly, you’d be doing a major service to the establishment of our Girls Academy. Don’t worry, Daddies, you can get involved too

So, whether you are interested in playing in our all new Girls Academy or whether you’d like to help us out, please come down and talk to us on Sunday, July 11th at 10.30am. And if you can’t make it on the morning, please contact Brian Murphy at 0879345962 or contact us on Facebook by private message to register your interest in playing or helping out. See you then!!!
