Corkbeg were narrowly defeated in the Quarter Final of the Saxone Cup by a strong Hibernians side in Whitegate last Saturday. One goal was enough to separate the two evenly matched sides, as Aaron Hickeys tidy right foot finish after 30 minutes was enough to send Hibs through to the semi-finals. Corkbeg will rue a first half penalty miss by vice captain Aidan Cotter and despite good performances by Sean Quirke and Gavin Roche, that all important equalising goal would not come. The lads return to league action next Saturday v Central Rovers at 2.30 in Whitegate. Corkbeg have currently only lost one league game so far. Hopefully, they’ll have better luck in this one.
